PERSONALITY
Rueben is a grumpy chef, who always seems to be grumbling about something or another. Rueben snaps at other easily, and tends to always have a sharp witty comment at the ready. Rueben tends to be kinder to people who are shy or quiet, and tries to dial back the sass when interacting with those folk. Rueben loves food, and has since he was young. Cooking shows were always more interesting than cartoons to little Rue. Now a days, Rueben works at a little restaurant in town called "The Jade Garden". It's a higher end restaurant, that recently has been getting more attention due to the fact they grow almost all the herbs and vegetables used in their dishes out in a large garden, that guests can eat their meal out in.

BACKSTORY
When Rueben was a young adult, he got mixed up with a gang. They adopted him into their group on account of his nimble theft prone fingers and his abilities with a lock pick. At first the gang was just 7 or so people messing around causing mild havoc, but when a different Kalon stepped up as leader, the group took a turn for the worse. The group was hurting people, and doing far more damage than before. The last straw was when three members kidnapped a kid because he threatened to call the cops on them for trying to steal a motorcycle. When no one was watching, Rueben grabbed the kid and fled their base, running out into the woods. He instructed the kid to run home (only a few blocks away), then Rueben himself went to his own apartment and locked every lock he could. The next morning on the news there was a report of a gang being busted, and its members being arrested for kidnapping and multiple charges of assault and property damage. Not all of the gang was captured however. Fearing that those members would come after Rueben seeking revenge, Rue fled town, traveling as far away as he could on his low paychecks. He changed his last name to Sparrow, and has been trying to lay low for the past few years.
