He is being trained to become the royal spy for the kingdom like his mother and her mother before that, etc. He is very close to the prince who is being trained to be a king, which is highly important for the king / queen and their spy to have a close bond so they can trust each other. Kiran doesn't especially enjoy his training, and would much prefer to be gardening all day.
